The Ponds Early Learning Centre offers families an educational program that aims to stimulate and challenge your child’s learning and development. We combine play-based learning within the planning of the curriculum and aim to incorporate children’s interests, strengths, relationships, and prior knowledge to our program.
Our programs are always available for viewing and are regularly evaluated by educators. Parents are welcome to make contributions to the program and share information about their children with our team.
Early Years Learning Framework
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) describes the principles, practices, and outcomes essential to support and enhance young children’s learning from birth to five years of age, as well as their transition to school. It is part of the Australian Government’s National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care.
The framework has a strong emphasis on play-based learning, and recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development. Through implementing the EYLF in their programming, your centre’s educators are helping your child to develop:
- A strong sense of identity.
- Connections with their world.
- A strong sense of well being.
- Confidence and involvement in their learning
- Effective communication skills.
Our Program encourages community participation and will include visits by local organisations, including the Fire Brigade, Police Service and Life Education. We will also have many centre social functions on offer such as:
- Easter & Christmas Party
- Graduation Ceremony for children attending school.
- Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Morning Tea
- Disco Night
- Annual Concert
- Centre Photo Day
